Pretty in Pink? The Gardens and Flora of Babylon
Jan - March, 2009
Most visitors to Babylon initially feast their eyes on the gorgeous men that await their pleasure when they enter the sanctus sanctorum of this gay paradise. Others marvel at the beauty of the art and architecture or the unique design of the place. What is often noticed but perhaps rarely gets mentioned is, however, the magnificent flora to be found in the compound – the extraordinary array of trees, shrubs and tropical plants that delight the senses. This year, cooler than normal in January, and now in March, hot, bright and sunny, has witnessed a truly glorious spectacle to behold as nature beckons hotel guests and spa patrons to the doors of Babylon. Pretty in pink? Perhaps. But witness too, the resplendent greens, reds, and whites that can be seen in these flowering beauties of the first three months of 2009.
These pictures tell something of the story. Enjoy!
